The Harvard Medical School core clerkship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital occurs during a students year-long Principal Clinical Experience. HMS students will rotate through all core clerkship rotations at a single hospital. For more information on the core clerkships offered at BWH, click the links below.

Core Medicine Clerkship  – 12 weeks
Core Surgery Clerkship – 12 weeks
Core Obstetrics/Gynecology Clerkship – 6 weeks
Core Pediatrics Clerkship – 6 weeks (BWH/BCH)
Core Neurology Clerkship – 4 weeks
Core Psychiatry Clerkship – 4 weeks
Core Radiology Clerkship – 4 weeks

Primary Care Clerkship – 40 weeks (Three 1/2 day sessions a month)

BWH hosts nearly 60 HMS advance electives, each with a 4-week duration, through various hospital departments. Several of these opportunities are available to Exchange Clerkship medical students.
