SUMMARY:Medical Education STARS - Showcasing Talent Among Residents\, & Sch
olars
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:Register HEREThe BEI Med Ed STARS Presentation Series is a care
er advancement opportunity for trainees (residents and fellows) and early
career faculty working on clinical education innovation projects and/or re
search to present their work to a community of clinical educators and rece
ive focused counsel and feedback.Title: Dispelling Neurophobia through Pod
castingDescription: Neurophobia or “the fear of clinical neurology” is
a well-studied phenomenon experienced by early medical trainees due to th
e complexity of neuroanatomy and lack of clinical exposure. To overcome th
e worsening shortage of neurologists\, it is imperative to harness the ear
ly trainee interest and find ways to dispel neurophobia. The Neurophilia P
odcast was created to help bridge the gap between practitioner and learner
. Since launching\, the Neurophilia Podcast has seen exponential growth in
podcast listeners and social media engagement. We performed an extensive
review of our podcast software (Buzzsprout) and the primary social media p
latform (Twitter) to determine our audience size\, demographics\, and leve
l of engagement. Throughout the presentation\, the successes and learning
points of creating an educational podcast\, and spend time discussing podc
ast-based learning as a whole will be shared.Led by: Nupur Goel\, MDPGY-3
