BRIGHAM LEADERSHIP PROGRAM (BLP)

The Brigham Leadership Program (BLP) at Brigham and Women’s Hospital is geared towards mid-career physicians, scientists, administrative leaders, advanced practice provider leaders and nursing and clinical directors in a management role and currently leading teams, projects, divisions, centers, clinics or laboratories. The BLP is a rigorous leadership development program offered by the BWH Faculty Development & Well-being Team with support from the department, hospital and physicians’ organization leadership in collaboration with Harvard Business School (HBS).

The program is designed to support the mission and attainment of BWH strategies and enhance the participants’ leadership capacity and ability to lead complex projects and teams. Organized to accommodate professional schedules, participants meet for four 2.5 days modules on site at HBS and three 2-hour interim sessions at BWH. The program is tailored to BWH strategies with action-learning projects and custom cases for and about the BWH environment.

The current course directors are:

  • BWH Team: Mike Healey, MD; Elena Massarotti, MD; Maddie Pearson, RN; James Rathmell, MD; Malcolm Robinson, MD and Elena Bertkau, MS
  • HBS Team: Rob Huckman, Pam Hallagan

Cohort IX graduated in January 2023 and we hope to launch our next cohort in collaboration with all MGB Entities in January 2024.
