Nursing Preceptor Education Program

This virtual program features two half-day live workshops—not two full days—held from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. ET on October 28–29, 2026.

Now in its 12th year, the Maine Nursing Preceptor Education Program (MNPEP) is a nationally recognized professional development program that strengthens precepting and clinical teaching skills across healthcare settings. Participants complete seven self-paced online modules followed by two interactive virtual workshops focused on applied learning, reflection and peer skill-building.

Originally developed by and for nurses in Maine, MNPEP now welcomes participants from across the United States.

Program Requirements

  • Complete all seven on-demand modules
  • Attend both half-day virtual workshops

Completion of both components is required to receive credit.

Slavin, MD Academy for Applied Learning in Health Care in partnership with the Mass General Brigham University of Health Professions School of Nursing, Lunder-Dineen Health Education Alliance of Maine and Norman Knight Nursing Center for Clinical and Professional Development.
