The BEI invites you to the second session in the "Thinking about Intelligence" a series on helping and guiding the trainee.
IQ scores only tell part of the story. In this session, we explore the concept of General Intelligence (g factor)—a broader view of cognitive ability that encompasses reasoning, problem-solving, and adaptability across varied situations. Through self-assessment and guided discussion, participants will reflect on their own learning styles, clinical decision-making processes, and how these skills relate to success in medicine beyond test scores.
Session led by:
Erik K. Alexander, MD
Executive Director, BEI
HMS Associate Dean, Undergraduate Medical Education, BWH
Vice President of Education, BWH
Professor of Medicine, Harvard Medical School
