“Hands-On Peer Review Workshop: Let’s Try It” with Kristina Dzara, PhD, MMSc and Subha Ramani, MBBS, PhD

This is the second session in a three part series about “Learning to Peer Review Effectively in Medical Education.” This session will be a hands-on peer review workshop, with participants actively peer reviewing a manuscript in small groups. Small groups will report their recommendations and in a large group, a recommendation to the journal will be collaboratively determined. This engaging session is open to all interested within and outside the MGB community, including students, trainees, chief residents, faculty, and allied health professionals. Knowledge Burst: Ovid Medline Expand Term Finder

This 20-minute session will describe and explain how to use Ovid’s Expand Term Finder tool. Users will discover the appropriate terminology in an interactive Medical Subject Heading or MeSH browser and find their synonyms to correctly search in Ovid’s Medline platform. After determining the correct vocabulary; i.e. subject headings, sub-headings, and synonyms, users will create search strategies, personal accounts, and save searches.
