HMS OSCE: PRECEPTORS NEEDED

Harvard Medical School has several opportunities to participate in the Objective Structure Clinical Examination (OSCE) sessions as part of the HMS Clinical Skills Assessment program during the months of June, July, August and September. Your role as a preceptor is to observe each student performing the designated tasks and provide real time, hands-on feedback on the students’ skills.

  • Final Year Comprehensive OSCE-The Comprehensive Exam is required for graduation at Harvard Medical School, and serves as important preparation for the Step 2 Clinical Skills (CS) portion of the United States Medical Licensing Examination.

  • PCE OSCE-This new OSCE session is designed for students as a part of the HMS longitudinal clinical skills curriculum. The goal of this formative assessment exercise is to help students identify their strengths and target the areas they need to work on.
  •  PDW3 Standardized Patient Encounter Exercise –Designed for students as a part of the Professional Development Week course series. The goal of this formative assessment exercise is to help students identify their strengths and target the areas they need to work on.
  • Advanced Clinical Examination (ACE) Session-Designed for students as part of the Transition to PCE Course. The goal of ACE sessions is to advance students’ physical examination skills in preparation for the PCE.
