Pastoral Care
BWH Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) is a way of learning and improving one’s ministry and/or pastoral skills through experience and reflection in a clinical setting. CPE incorporates students and ministers of all faiths and traditions who are guided through their clinical experiences by their supervisors. The BWH Catholic Deacons Pastoral Internship training includes people in the deaconate ordination process within the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston and the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts Deacon training programs.

Nutrition
BWH’s 11-month, clinically-focused Dietetic Internship program provides approximately 1,500 hours of supervised practice, is designed to provide a strong theoretical knowledge base with exceptional practical experiences in acute-care clinical nutrition, outpatient nutrition services, community nutrition, food service management and research in the field of nutrition.

Social Work
Participants in our BWH Graduate Internships in Social Work have the opportunity to work with patients, families and groups from a variety of social, cultural, emotional and economic backgrounds in a Medical-Surgical and/or Obstetrics & Gynecolology division. The social work intern provides psychosocial assessments, diagnosis, treatment, discharge planning and community follow-up during the course of the patient’s illness. Experience is gained in providing services to both hospital inpatients and outpatients.
